COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ A historic Pueblo pool is being converted into a safe space (a dedicated area for child exchanges and supervised visitation) to expand the Mariposa Center for Safety’s Teresa’s Place program. Funded with over $1 million from the federal government, the project will help serve more families. KOAA
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Pueblo Fire Department put out a 4-acre brush fire near Fountain Creek at 4th and Erie (just east of I-25) Monday night as high winds reduced visibility. Crews returned Tuesday morning to check for hot spots, and no structures were damaged, no evacuations occurred, and no injuries happened. KKTV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Astronomy events in Pueblo this year include a total lunar eclipse on March 3, a Perseid meteor shower peaking Aug. 12-13, and a rare blue moon in May. The calendar also features full moons (including Harvest Moon on Sept. 26) and meteor showers through December, giving residents many sky-watching chances. Pueblo Chieftain
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ CDOT announced several roadwork projects scheduled to finish in 2026— the I-25 work from Fillmore to Garden of the Gods will complete by early fall and the Airport Road and Powers Boulevard improvements will finish by July, with resurfacing planned for Highway 24 and Pueblo West’s Highway 50.
