Pueblo Community College will offer a new aviation maintenance technician training program expected to create 45 jobs over the next three years in Pueblo; state officials approved $471,423 in November funding to support renovations, staff wages, equipment and curriculum development + boost opportunities for former coal workers and veterans.
Pueblo County received a $160,000 GOCO grant for its Guiding Star Master Plan to improve parks, trails, and community health.
Led by Parks and Recreation, the plan is set to finish early 2027 with input from local partners (Colorado Parks and Wildlife, CSU Extension, Grassroots Gravel).
PDPHE advises Puebloans to stay home if sick (including flu, COVID and other viruses) this winter.
The advisory came on Jan. 7 after low hospitalization rates on Dec. 31 but expects numbers to rise in January and February while urging residents to wash their hands.
