COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Local organizations have given children with disabilities their first chance to ride on adaptive bikes through AMR's Safety Jam program. Twelve-year-old Noah enjoys more independence on his customized bike, and organizers plan to expand the giveaway next year.  KOAA

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Pikes Peak trail project received a $2.5 million funding boost that launches a four-year initiative to improve trail access in the region. Officials said the project will boost outdoor recreation and community connectivity in the area.  KKTV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • In Colorado, the hands-free cellphone law now imposes a $75 fine for drivers using phones behind the wheel, with state patrol data showing 935 citations in 2025. Some drivers, mainly younger ones, remain unaware of the rule even as enforcement increases.  KOAA

HEALTH NEWS

  • A new OSU survey shows only 1 in 5 people know midwives do annual exams beyond birth support, a fact that matters as Pueblo faces OBGYN shortages; Dr. Norma Nehren of Pueblo Community Health Center said midwives work with doctors (for complex cases) to keep women healthy.  KOAA
