- ➤ On Wednesday, Airbnb donated $50,000 to southern Colorado’s largest food bank — a boost that will help Care and Share provide 125,000 meals around the region. Local leaders, including Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade, attended the check presentation. KOAA
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A large slash pile fire erupted late Wednesday night near Joplin Avenue and Lacrosse Avenue east of Pueblo, and firefighters worked with stormwater staff to reduce flames while no structures were threatened and no injuries were reported as of Thursday morning. KKTV

- ➤ Progress continues as the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America prepares to open in Pueblo + the exhibit will display da Vinci’s inventions and artworks, including a military tank design and a replica of The Last Supper. Pueblo Chieftain
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A gray wolf collar was recorded in a local watershed from Jan. 27 to Feb. 24, marking the first time since reintroduction that the species was tracked in Pueblo County. Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the detection does not mean wolves roam the watershed throughout. Pueblo Chieftain
- ➤ On Wednesday, Mar. 11, Colorado Parks and Wildlife discussed new hunting licenses, plans for a state wildlife area, and bobcat management during its Wild Wednesday update. The agency said the changes aim to boost local wildlife conservation and outdoor recreation. KKTV
- ➤ Farmers in the lower Arkansas River Valley say they plan to plant fewer crops because a low mountain snowpack risks cutting the water needed for seeds — they hope a return of snowfall will prevent shortages that could raise local produce prices. KOAA

- ➤ City officials are considering a rule that would let the mayor declare a temporary kennel and cattery emergency (if approved by city council) to help shelter pets during extreme weather.
