A new museum honoring Leonardo da Vinci at 310 Central Main St. will open on June 12 with a ribbon-cutting attended by state and local leaders, featuring Artisans of Florence-crafted recreations of da Vinci machines including artist demonstrations, guided tours and more, with a detailed schedule coming in April.

Amber Freed, a Pueblo native, developed a groundbreaking gene therapy that treated her son Maxwell’s rare genetic disorder after a seven-year battle.

Maxwell showed notable improvements on Halloween (he led his peers in local festivities), and Freed is now fundraising extra doses and contacting lawmakers to secure FDA approval for future treatments.
