John Mezanac nearly died in a September motorcycle wreck and on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, he reunited with Pueblo first responders who administered an emergency blood transfusion—an innovative program that has aided 26 locals in the field.
John Mazanec, who survived a near-fatal motorcycle crash last September, reunited today with the AMR paramedics who saved his life using a rare whole blood program in Pueblo.
The program—developed over two years with community donations—has already treated 26 patients and exemplifies a new approach to emergency care.
