- ➤ Autism Mana provides free exercise and recreation programs for children with special needs every Saturday from 11 a.m. + 12 p.m. at E.P.I.C. Fitness until May 30. It will hold its first annual autism walk at Pueblo Riverwalk on April 25. KOAA
- ➤ Over 25,000 votes named Colorado's new Front Range Passenger Rail service CoCo after a contest that closed on Monday, Apr. 6, and the train will connect Pueblo to Fort Collins in 2029. Pueblo Chieftain
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Steel City Music Showcase returns for its third annual event on April 10-11 in downtown Pueblo with over 40 artists performing at four stages (including a new community stage featuring youth acts and a hip-hop festival). Tickets start at $33 and parking is available at local garages. Pueblo Chieftain
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The South High School Alumni Foundation will induct charter members and three distinguished alumni into the 2026 Hall of Fame at Pueblo South High School—celebrating its 20th anniversary. Additional event details are yet to be announced. Pueblo Chieftain
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Former Pueblo Rep Daneya Esgar, a key sponsor of the 2019 law banning conversion therapy for minors, said she was disappointed after the Supreme Court ruled the ban infringed on free speech. The Colorado House passed a bill allowing civil actions for therapy survivors & addressing damage claims. Pueblo Chieftain
- ➤ CDOT has started two road projects in Pueblo County Monday to improve highway safety and extend pavement life. Crews are installing cable rail on a 6½‑mile section of I-25 with nighttime lane closures and resurfacing a 13‑mile segment of Highway 50 — work runs into fall. KOAA
- ➤ CDOT and SEMA Construction will close both eastbound and westbound Highway 50B lanes on I-25 starting Thursday night to facilitate an interchange project. Eastbound lanes will close from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday and westbound lanes from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday (detour routes are provided). KKTV
