  • The new Boathouse at the Riverwalk will hold its grand opening on Thursday, April 23, at 3 p.m. The two-story facility, built after nearly two years of construction, will house the HARP Authority office and provide boat storage, ticket sales, and concessions at 130 E.   • Former attorney & long-time YMCA board member Lewis Quigg died on March 31 just after turning 80. He was known for providing free legal help and for helping secure the new YMCA building, leaving a lasting legacy of community service.  Pueblo Chieftain

CULTURE NEWS

  • In a Chieftain Q&A, Pueblo's newest centenarian Trinie Rubidoux shared her secret to a long life after turning 100 on March 26. She said walking in all weather and cherishing family moments helps her stay strong.  Pueblo Chieftain
  • A benefit concert for Elite Equine Colorado Rescue & Rehab is scheduled for later in April in Pueblo — details on the venue and start time are forthcoming — to support the rescue's work in the community.  KKTV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A fuel truck spill shut down I-25 overnight last month in Pueblo — local officials are still investigating the environmental fallout from the incident.  KOAA
  • Colorado Parks and Wildlife is asking the public to help track river otters as part of the Otter Y.E.A.R. project on iNaturalist. Submitted photos and locations may guide future reintroduction efforts across the state.  KKTV
