- ➤ Buc-ee's restarted its effort to bring a store to southern Colorado and is reviewing potential sites in the region. The company will share more details as planning moves forward. KKTV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Following closing arguments, Nicholas Jordan was found guilty of first-degree murder for shooting UCCS student Samuel Knopp and Pueblo resident Celie Montgomery in a February dorm room shooting. His sentencing will follow after a short recess, and Pueblo City Council postponed its vote on a no sit-lie ordinance for downtown sidewalks with a new vote planned for April 28. KOAA

- ➤ CSU Pueblo will host its 12th Annual Holocaust Day of Remembrance on April 24 in the OSC Tundra Room. The day-long event (open to the public) will feature speakers, presentations, and educational activities to honor lives lost during World War II. KOAA
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Four high schoolers in Douglas County are building The CLEAR Initiative to change how people understand, prevent, and respond to sexual assault. The team will launch their startup in about eight weeks with a website planned for May 1 (they are fundraising to meet a $5,500 goal) and plan to continue the project after graduation (ensuring their voices remain active in the community). - ➤ Homeowners in Historic Uptown are backing a petition for a Historic Preservation Overlay that will protect local homes from new construction—subject to city council review for special guidelines and tax breaks. Pueblo City Council postponed a vote on a sit-lie ordinance affecting downtown sidewalks, and the vote will be taken again on April 28. KOAA
- ➤ The Pueblo Memorial Airport has partnered with Denver Air Connections to offer 12 weekly flights to and from Denver that will begin May 1—providing a 50-minute alternative to a two-hour drive on I-25. The move follows the end of its deal with Southern Airways last August—part of the city's effort to upgrade the airport. KOAA
