ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday just after 4:30 p.m., the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office confirmed two additional fires burning in the county - one at the Daniel Road area burning 38 acres and one on Highway 50 that was 100% contained to 1/4 acre - while fires were also reported near Fowler and north of Pueblo Mall under a Red Flag Warning that bans burning. - ➤ Former UCCS student Nicholas Jordan received two life sentences on April 16 for the February dorm room shooting that killed Pueblo resident Celie Rain Montgomery and Parker man Samuel Knopp—police said the incident stemmed from a disputed roommate argument. Pueblo Chieftain
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters in Pueblo County worked on Thursday to battle two small wildfires—one near Daniel Road that burned over 38 acres and remains uncontained and another near Highway 50 that was fully contained by 4:45 p.m.—while crews also managed a separate fire near Fowler amid active Red Flag Warnings.
