COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Mt. Carmel Veteran Services celebrated 10 years of offering mental health support to veterans + reporting measurable improvements while continuing to serve the community in Pueblo. Its dedication marks a milestone in local veteran care.  KKTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Liberty Point International Middle School in Pueblo West received a $1,000 scholarship to support its STEM rocketry program simulating a Mars mission; Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera's office announced the award on April 20 at 5:30 a.m. (part of the 2026 Lt. Governors’ STEM Scholarship Program).  Pueblo Chieftain

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • CDOT announced that crews will upgrade more than 50 traffic signals in Pueblo and Colorado Springs by installing high-contrast backplates to improve visibility. Work begins early May in Pueblo on Highway 50 and Pueblo Boulevard and is expected to finish mid-August (construction will occur mainly at night).  KKTV
  • Metro District officials announced they are not considering turning Goldfield Drive into a trail after reviewing the proposal. The decision leaves current roadway plans in place and further details will be shared as available.  KKTV

HEALTH NEWS

  • St. Mary-Corwin Hospital officials in Pueblo say the hospital is not at risk of closure or service cuts as reported by Public Citizen amid Medicaid funding cuts (effective Jan. 1). The hospital, with 145 years of service, remains committed to efficient patient care.  Pueblo Chieftain
