EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A new report from Validated Insights Inc. predicts trade school enrollment will grow steadily over the next five years as more students in Pueblo and across Colorado turn to programs that offer quick certification and job support—IntelliTec College is seeing a rising number of students at its campuses. U.S. Air Force veteran Ryan Knock is now studying massage therapy at the Pueblo campus, saying affordable tuition and job placement help make trade schools a practical choice. KOAA
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife said a translocated female gray wolf died in Rocky Mountain National Park on April 20, marking the third death among the 15 wolves released in January. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will investigate the death since the species is federally listed under the Endangered Species Act. KOAA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Uber announced on Wednesday it would leave Colorado if a rideshare safety bill passes — HB25-1291 requires continuous audio and then video recording along with regular background checks to improve safety. Representative Jenny Willford introduced the measure after a personal incident and Uber cited privacy and cost concerns as reasons for its objection. KOAA
- ➤ State lawmakers are considering a bill that may extend funding for the Healthy School Meals for All program—which provides two free meals daily to every public school student, and if passed, voters will decide in November whether to continue funding through a tax on those earning over $300,000. The program is currently funded until December. KKTV
