Residents gathered Friday night at City Park to oppose cuts to tennis+pickleball lessons made for budget reasons.

City officials said the changes are needed to save money, while many worry that ending these affordable programs will hurt local tournaments and community events.

Victory Outreach Church’s annual Code Red event, which supports sex workers with donated food, clothing and hygiene services, is seeking a new location after the city told them new requirements must be met at Ray Aguilera Park — the program will continue to serve the community.
