- ➤ AT&T’s Pueblo call center, which opened in 2006, is set to close in June when its lease expires as part of a company effort to streamline operations. The center, which once employed nearly 500 workers, saw 83 union-represented employees informed of the closure+40 of them will be offered work-from-home roles while others will follow their work to California or Texas. - ➤ The Colorado Springs Police Department recovered a white Dodge Charger from a deadly I-25 crash last month that killed 21-year-old Salvador Diaz and injured seven others after a road rage incident—police are asking for help to identify the driver. KOAA
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Los Huracanes del Norte will perform at the Colorado State Fair on Sunday, Aug. 31 during Fiesta Day—a celebration of Hispanic heritage held at the fair since 1967. Ticket sales for the concert start on May 8 at 10 a.m.—offering locals a chance to join the festivities. FOX21
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On April 28, the District 60 board voted 3-2 to deny Chavez-Huerta K-12 Preparatory Academy's request to exit its charter contract, citing concerns over low enrollment and academic performance. The decision left students and parents uncertain—CHPA officials said community leaders and families continue to support the school as it seeks another authorizer for the upcoming school year. KKTV

- ➤ Tuesday's unofficial Pueblo General Election tallies showed board candidates leading with Austin R. Clennin at 707 votes and Christopher Pasternak at 1,896 votes while the city ballot question on cancelling the franchise agreement recorded 13,835 no votes and 3,669 yes votes.
