- ➤ Next Saturday, the second annual 8 Seconds for Addiction Sober Cowboy Rodeo will be held at the Colorado State Fairgrounds with doors opening at 4:00 p.m.—the event offers rodeo athletes a chance to compete in rough stock events while promoting support for those overcoming addiction. Organizer Lacey Singleton, who founded Sober Cowboy after her own struggles with alcohol, aims to create a community where enthusiasts can pursue their passion while staying sober. KKTV

- ➤ Justin Kula was sentenced to 48 years in prison on May 2—he struck former Pueblo sheriff's deputy Christine Guerin Sandoval with his car in September 2023 while she served a felony warrant in Colorado Springs and injured another officer as he fled. Pueblo Chieftain
- ➤ The Colorado Bureau of Investigation arrested four people on April 28 after search warrants in Denver recovered 41 pounds of fentanyl pills (about 800,000 pills) from homes tied to a multi-state trafficking network. KKTV

- ➤ A new study found Colorado ranks second for reckless driving deaths and an insurance analyst said the risk is pushing local insurance rates higher—this may add to costs for drivers in Pueblo. KKTV

- ➤ According to the City Clerk, a recall petition against Mayor Heather Graham got less than half of the 6,287 required signatures and will not appear on the ballot this fall. Organizers said the effort showed that Pueblo residents still have a voice — an official count is pending. KKTV
