Mark Salazar, a former gang member, started the Hard Knox Gang Prevention and Intervention program almost 10 years ago in Pueblo to help current gang members—kids and teens included—find jobs, finish community service and learn new skills.

He uses activities like chess at Lucero Library to teach life lessons and show that there is a better way than gang life.
