- ➤ A ranch owner near Coal Creek said on May 8th she lost 15 cows after a sudden illness, and she contacted the vet as her animals showed signs of sulfate poisoning. Fremont County emergency management took water samples from her property and the investigation continues — leaving her desperate for answers. KOAA

- ➤ Whataburger will open its first Pueblo location tomorrow at 11 a.m. at 2850 West Pueblo Boulevard with a double drive-thru, spacious dining room, and digital menu boards; the restaurant will offer gift baskets to the first drive-thru guest, the first inside guest + 100 additional customers while featuring a custom interior mural and employing 85 local team members. GOVERNMENT NEWS

- ➤ Gov. Jared Polis signed a bill on May 19 in Pueblo that bans firearm possession for those convicted of first-degree auto theft—convicted individuals may legally own guns again 10 years after their charges. Pueblo Chieftain
- ➤ The City of Pueblo is hosting the free Team Up to Clean Up event on May 31 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for residents to drop off large household items and yard debris at CSU Pueblo at 2001 Rawlings Blvd and the State Fairgrounds at 1001 Beulah Ave — a separate green waste drop-off site is at Pueblo RecycleWorks on 1595 Stockyard Rd. - ➤ Health officials said an out-of-state traveler with confirmed measles stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Dillon Drive in Pueblo from 10 p.m. to midnight on May 9 and in the breakfast area from 9:15 a.m. to noon on May 10. People who visited the hotel during those times and later develop symptoms such as fever, cough, or a rash should call a health provider immediately—measles symptoms typically appear seven to twenty-one days after exposure—.
