- ➤ Today, the Greater Pueblo Chamber received a $20,000 grant from the Child Care Access Alliance to tackle childcare challenges in Pueblo County. It will conduct surveys and meetings with community partners (including Pueblo Communities that Care Coalition) and develop a regional report (expected by spring) to guide future solutions. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today a new video guide explores Pueblo's museums from Weisbrod's aviation and military exhibits to Rosemount Museum's Victorian displays, offering a closer look at local cultural heritage. Pueblo Chieftain
- ➤ The Pikes Peak Honor Bell (forged from 1,000 pounds of bronze and 12 military artifacts) has tolling 270 memorial services across Colorado since its Nov. 2025 dedication at Mt. Carmel Veteran’s Center, serving as a tribute to veterans. Community members continue to honor sacrifice at Pikes Peak National Cemetery. KKTV
- ➤ Hardy Faulkner, a Buffalo Soldier whose name was misspelled at Roselawn Cemetery, will soon be memorialized in Pueblo after local researcher Ray Brown confirmed his service with the famed all-black unit. Brown hopes to have Faulkner’s gravestone in place before the end of July. KOAA

- ➤ San Isabel Electric awarded Pueblo County 37 students a record $60,000 in scholarships at its annual banquet on April 30. Seniors from Rye High, students from Pueblo West High, and two top honors from Branson Reorganized School District were among the recipients. Pueblo Chieftain

- ➤ St. Mary-Corwin Hospital earned an 'A' safety grade and a 'Straight A' for five consecutive cycles from the Leapfrog Group today, placing it among nine CommonSpirit Mountain Region centers recognized for patient safety & care quality. Pueblo Chieftain
