On Saturday, May 31, a nearly 25-hour search ended with six hikers—five minors—being rescued from Greenhorn Mountain by Pueblo County Sheriff's Office and Custer County Search and Rescue teams after they lost their way off a trail near Graneros Creek, with one volunteer injured and airlifted as crews battled heavy rain and rugged terrain.
CDOT is urging parents in Pueblo to talk with their teen drivers about safe driving as the 100 deadliest days of summer begin—advising them to set clear rules on distractions, speeding, and passenger limits.
The agency noted that teen drivers are at higher risk due to inexperience and is encouraging parents to lead by example.
The Rockies lost 2 to 8 to the Mets Saturday — setting records for the worst 58-game start at 9 to 49 and for starting a season with 19 consecutive series losses, which extends their winless streak to 22 series since last September.
They face the Mets again on Sunday and begin a three-game series against the Miami Marlins today in Florida.
