- ➤ The Pueblo West Pool will not open this summer because mechanical issues with its pump and motor forced officials to close it, and they suggest families visit the nearby splash park or other local pools. Separately, a Pueblo bus driver faces DUI-refusal charges after multiple 911 calls raised concerns about possible intoxication—officials are investigating the incident. KOAA

- ➤ A second suspect, Israel Fernandez, 32, was arrested by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office on June 10 & charged with second-degree assault after an altercation at Runyon Field Sports Complex on June 8 that left one man unconscious with serious injuries and another with minor injuries. - ➤ Chavez-Huerta Preparatory Academy in Pueblo is closing its doors after 25 years of operation — the school will end its academic programs, leaving students to seek other educational opportunities. KKTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Since January, Colorado banned holding a cellphone while driving and the state patrol reported 1,161 distracted driving crashes in five months—a 19% drop from last year. Drivers who break the law will face a $75 fine and two license points unless they show proof of buying a hands‑free device, and officials say traffic deaths have also dropped 11%. KOAA
