- ➤ Pueblo neighbors on North Main Street have united to fight ongoing crime after witnessing a drive-by shooting and a murder on the sidewalk, and they met with Mayor Heather Graham and city officials to speed up cleaning efforts (neighbors report fewer needles and less trash) (community actions are credited with improved safety). - ➤ A study by Ready Set Gift ranked Colorado as the sixth most thoughtful state based on Google Trends data and an April 11 survey measuring interest in gift giving, donations, and volunteering — a result that backs the state's social awareness. - ➤ Colorado agreed to a $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family to address the opioid crisis — if finalized, the state will receive about $75 million over the next 15 years to bolster opioid response programs. KOAA
- ➤ Colorado Springs voters rejected a proposal on June 17 to annex 1,900 acres near Schriever Space Force Base due to water concerns raised by southern Colorado farmers and water districts—63,813 votes opposed the measure compared to 14,239 in favor. Local officials said the result warns against future annexations that may strain the region's water supply. Pueblo Chieftain
- ➤ Governor Jared Polis pardoned four Colorado residents convicted of psilocybin possession on Wednesday at the psychedelic Science 2025 Conference—he did not require an application, and residents who were not pardoned may apply for clemency by contacting the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. KKTV
- ➤ Fort Carson held a change of command ceremony on June 18 when Maj. Gen. Patrick J. Ellis took over command of the 4th Infantry Division while Maj. Gen. David S. Doyle left for Fort Bragg — Ellis has served in several units including the 75th Ranger Regiment. FOX21
- ➤ Pueblo is launching a pothole repair blitz from June 23 to 27 and asks residents to email the Department of Public Works with the locations of problematic potholes.
