CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Law enforcement is investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place Tuesday night in Pueblo — a suspect and a deputy were injured. KKTV
- ➤ Deputies investigated after a 32-year-old inmate died on Tuesday at Pueblo County Jail; she was found unresponsive in her cell after just over 24 hours in custody and taken to a local hospital with a weak heartbeat before she died—initial checks did not show any signs of foul play. KKTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking bids to remove the current North Shore Marina infrastructure at Lake Pueblo State Park in preparation for a new, modern marina; the marina will remain open through Oct 31 so boaters can complete the 2025 season — CPW said. Pueblo Chieftain
- ➤ Pueblo County Commissioners voted Tuesday to end their agreement with the Pueblo Regional Building Department—this shift will transfer permit and inspection duties solely to the county's planning division, and officials will discuss transition details at a meeting on Thursday. KOAA
- ➤ On Tuesday, June 24, Gov. Jared Polis met in Pueblo to discuss plans for redeveloping the former Pueblo Chemical Depot—an effort to update its manufacturing and research strategy following the depot's closure last year.
