Bishop Castle faced the Aspen Acres Fire on July 3 (flames came within 200 yards) but was confirmed intact on July 4.
Injured Daniel Bishop said he had prepared the castle for wildfires this summer.
Wildfire smoke from Aspen Acres has lessened after calmer winds allowed eastern Pueblo's air to drop to moderate levels by late Saturday, though Pueblo West still faces unhealthy conditions and thunderstorms may bring relief later today as rain is expected to reduce smoke levels.
