Pueblo police, firefighters + Colorado Parks and Wildlife safely captured and relocated a yearling black bear in south Pueblo, moving it to a secure area to keep residents and the animal safe.

On July 10, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office ended pre-evacuation orders for the east side of the Aspen Acres Fire zone near Interstate 25 and connecting roads, so residents can now return home.

Other parts remain under evacuation with more changes expected Friday.

Public health officials say Colorado reported 93 cyclosporiasis cases in the first half of 2026, a number in line with the five-year average, while cases remain spread with no alarming clusters.

The department advises safe food handling (washing produce thoroughly) to reduce infection risk.
