CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Pueblo Police arrested 24-year-old David Alam on July 22 after he crashed his red car into a kiosk on West Northern Avenue at 6 a.m.—he attempted to steal a change machine, got his car stuck in a ditch, and caused over $20,000 in damage as he now faces charges including Criminal Mischief, Burglary, and Careless Driving. - ➤ A reported bomb threat call came into US Bank located inside the Pueblo West Safeway at 1017 N Market Place on Monday at 4:17 p.m.—deputies evacuated the building for a bomb team investigation, which found no suspicious items, and a suspect has been identified who is expected to face charges. - ➤ FCSO said a DOC inmate transfer backlog is forcing the county to pay an extra $52.84 per inmate per day since housing costs are about $130 while the state reimburses only $77.16—seventeen sheriffs sent a letter to Governor Polis asking him to use emergency options and adjust reimbursements to ease the burden on local taxpayers.
