CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A motorcycle rider was arrested for reckless stunts and blocking traffic at the Pueblo Boulevard and West Northern Avenue intersection on July 31st, 2025—police said other riders fled the scene after calls reported the dangerous behavior. KOAA
- ➤ A Pueblo man, Dominick Jesus Salazar, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for drug and firearm charges after police arrested him outside a hotel and found a loaded pistol along with drugs — phone evidence linked him to hand-to-hand sales. KOAA
- ➤ A man accused of a deadly hit and run on I-25 near North Academy on Friday is set to be released while police continue investigating the incident. KKTV
- ➤ Deputies at the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect in several fraud cases—photos of the suspect and a vehicle were released, and residents who recognize them should call the sheriff’s office with reference number 20418. KKTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Colorado jails now use a new technology system—CTIP—that sends critical inmate information such as health history and criminal records in seconds. Four pilot jails are active and 15 more are scheduled to join by June, which will help jail staff provide faster care. KOAA
- ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife will hold an open house at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, at Rawlings Library to gather input on a mule deer herd management plan—community members interested in wildlife and hunting are invited to share their ideas. Those who cannot attend in person can join the meeting by Zoom—public comments will shape the draft plan before it is presented to the CPW Commission. KOAA
