- ➤ Retired teacher Michelle Erickson is running for the Pueblo D70 board seat for District 3 to help get more funding, better communication, and staff training. She taught for over 30 years at Pueblo County and Pueblo West high schools—her experience will guide her as she works with officials to improve the school district. Pueblo Chieftain
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Gregory Grahek was named interim coroner after Brian Cotter resigned amid a criminal probe — he plans to hold open forums and work with other agencies to rebuild trust and improve staff support in Pueblo. Pueblo Chieftain
- ➤ Pueblo city leaders said they will help small businesses affected by vandalism—reviewing support measures such as direct funding—to help them recover from the damage. KKTV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A U.S. Census Bureau report showed that 6% of Colorado’s children were uninsured in 2024, meaning 77,000 kids lacked health coverage compared to 62,000 the year before. Toni Sarge (director of health policy at Colorado Children's Campaign) said the rise was linked to the end of automatic Medicaid enrollment after the COVID emergency. KOAA
