- ➤ The USAF Thunderbirds are preparing for the Pueblo Wings of Pride air show as they plan to showcase exciting aerial maneuvers over Pueblo — organizers expect the event to draw local families. More details on the schedule and safety protocols will be shared soon. KKTV
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Xcel Energy agreed on Wednesday to pay $640 million in settlements over claims that its power lines helped cause part of the Marshall Fire — the payment comes from its insurance coverage while the company denies any fault. FOX21
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife is monitoring a deer seen in Gleneagle with red material caught in its antlers since Sept. 23, and the animal is not in immediate danger. CPW advises homeowners to securely attach decorations such as Halloween lights and netting to keep wildlife safe and to call (719) 227-5200 if they spot the deer. FOX21

- ➤ Kids Crossing in Colorado Springs urges caregivers to take advantage of the new Kinship Foster Care Homes law—streamlining the process to quickly place children with family, as the county reported 329 children in kinship care on September 12; Lenita Zubrin said her great-grandson James received a safer family care option after suffering a brain injury. - ➤ Colleen Grahek Clark, co-host of Pueblo Matters on KOYCRadio, is running for an at-large seat on Pueblo City Council and is one of seven candidates on the November ballot. Her grassroots campaign will focus on local issues like vandalism, small business ordinances, police technology, youth recreation, homelessness and blighted housing — and she believes solving these concerns is a human issue. - ➤ The US Forest Service announced that online permits for firewood will be available from Wednesday and valid until December 31 as buyers pay $10 per cord for a minimum of three cords—traditional permits remain available at local offices. The agency also said online permits for Pikes Peak National Forest will soon be offered. KOAA
