- ➤ The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region will host Pueblo Pet Fest at the Colorado State Fairgrounds starting Friday, October 10 through Saturday, October 11—offering low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines and microchips. - ➤ Candidates for the Pueblo D60 Board, City Council District 1 and at-large positions debated at Pueblo Community College on October 1 — each candidate offered detailed introductions and visions for public leadership. Pueblo Chieftain

- ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife paused pronghorn hunting at Fort Carson and Pinon Canyon due to the federal government shutdown — offering refunds and restoring preference points for licenses for the season starting October 4.
