1129 Spirits & Eatery along the Pueblo Riverwalk offers free dinner for the first 20 guests each Wednesday night from 5:30 to 6 p.m., letting them choose from five meal options.
The restaurant also runs a family meal deal later and supports those in need through preloaded gift cards funded by community contributions.
The City of Pueblo will host a free dump day event called Team Up to Clean Up on October 18 at the Colorado State Fairgrounds and Colorado State University Pueblo from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.—residents must present proof of residency and limit drop-offs to one truckload each.
On Oct. 15, Senator Bennet hosted a roundtable with food bank leaders to discuss rising food insecurity as cuts in SNAP and TEFAP funding left families struggling with higher costs.
Leaders noted donations increased but food banks still served more people in need — many working full-time yet forced to make hard choices.
