- ➤ Seth Chapin, Silver Key’s Director of Transportation, said the company’s ride program soon will offer safe rides for aging adults in southern Colorado — the service is meant to help local seniors get to appointments and run errands. KKTV

- ➤ Centennial High School will induct three alumni and a staff member into its Hall of Fame on November 6, honoring local artist Joni Taibi Giarratano, multi-patent holder Donald Vendetti, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Mary 'Mimi' Lundgren and retired educator Gary Holder; an assembly starts at 9:45 a.m. at the school (2525 Mountview Drive) and an evening banquet will be held at Pueblo Union Depot (132 W. - ➤ Students in Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 formed a Youth Advisory Council to fight teen vaping by using peer education, PSAs, and support programs with funding from a Juul settlement award—about $131,000 of which supports the group's work. The council plans a statewide youth conference in spring to teach other students how to lead similar anti-vaping efforts. KOAA

- ➤ On Wednesday morning, Brandy Schneider was jogging in Pueblo West when she found a deer with a plastic jack-o-lantern bucket stuck on its head—neighbors quickly helped alert Colorado Parks and Wildlife, whose officer arrived within minutes to secure the decoration and ensure the animal could eat and drink. Wildlife managers warn that holiday decorations can accidentally harm animals—residents are encouraged to remove hazardous items from their yards. KOAA

- ➤ CDOT announced eastbound US 50B between I-25 and Hudson Avenue+Bonforte Boulevard will be closed for new pipe installations from 5 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Sunday, and drivers should use CO 47 via the US 50B/CO 47 Exit 101 off-ramp for a detour. KKTV
- ➤ The City of Pueblo will join the EDCC Drive|Lead|Succeed Conference at the Pueblo Convention Center from Oct 26 to Oct 29, and Mayor Heather Graham said the event will bring leaders from public, private + nonprofit sectors to share ideas on boosting economic growth in the community. - ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife planned to import wolves from Canada later this year but the US Fish and Wildlife Service said they must only use wolves from the northern Rocky Mountains—so the agency is reviewing its wolf restoration plan.
