- ➤ Jared and Sylvia Perea of Chiquitos Food Truck donated 160 free meals to the community on Sunday from their truck on East 4th Street near North Monument Avenue to thank supporters of their new business — local businesses also helped with the meal giveaway. KOAA
- ➤ The YMCA announced that Camp Jackson, a nearly 110-year-old camp, will close due to low enrollment and rising maintenance costs—over 2,000 community members have signed a petition asking for transparency. The YMCA said it will launch its new Jackson at the Y urban camp in 2026 to provide local youth with outdoor experiences. Pueblo Chieftain

- ➤ Colorado Springs is preparing its urban forest for the emerald ash borer by planning to remove ash trees from its approved street tree list next year—one in five public trees is ash. The invasive insect has been spotted in nearby cities and can spread through transported firewood, so the city urges property owners to care for their trees properly. KOAA
