- ➤ Pueblo restaurants are launching programs to help federal workers and SNAP recipients as benefits run out today amid a continuing federal shutdown—initiatives include pay-it-forward pizzas at the Do Drop Inn, free meals at 1129 Spirits and Eatery, discounted family meals at Mozo's Great American Heroes, and community tabs for free coffee and snacks. - ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials said carved pumpkins must be thrown away or composted because leaving them out can attract mountain lions and bears—this rule helps prevent conflicts between wildlife and people and could lead to fines for feeding animals. - ➤ Pueblo City Council approved a $50,000 mini-grant program on Oct. 27 to help small businesses repair vandalized storefronts using ARPA funds—offering up to $1,000 in reimbursements for door and window repairs.
