- ➤ Southern Colorado's largest nonprofit emergency assistance program—Pueblo Cooperative Care—is facing a surge in demand from families affected by the government shutdown as community members boost donations to help serve 500 more families this year. Pueblo City Council will discuss a $50,000 funding proposal Monday to support the purchase of additional food. KOAA

- ➤ PDPHE is partnering with 3R Technology Solutions and Pueblo Recycleworks to host a free electronics recycling event on November 17 at Front Range Transload, 604 W. Third St., where residents will drop off small and medium devices between 9 a.m. and noon—TVs incur a $30 fee and large appliances will not be accepted. Pueblo Chieftain

- ➤ Xcel Energy and state agencies filed a petition on Nov. 10 with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission to extend the operation of Pueblo's Comanche 2 coal plant until Dec. 31, 2026—citing an extended outage at the Comanche 3 plant and rising power demand. The proposal has drawn criticism from the Sierra Club—warning it could lead to higher electricity bills and increased air pollution for local residents. FOX21
- ➤ On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected an appeal that aimed to overturn the constitutional right to same-sex marriage.
