COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Crews drained the Riverwalk for a construction project to expand the channel and build a two—story boathouse. Officials say the project began last summer and will take about two years to complete— the Riverwalk should be full again sometime next week.  KOAA

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire near Highway 67 in Fremont County burned five acres—fire crews from Wetmore Volunteer Fire Department and Florence Fire Protection District battled high winds and multiple starts on Monday to bring it under control.  FOX21

CULTURE NEWS

  • Pueblo Mayor Heather Graham's office is now displaying ten art pieces by Boys and Girls Clubs students until mid-December. The art was selected by the Pueblo Arts Alliance (partnered with the Boys and Girls Clubs) and includes works such as a three-dimensional rocket (among others) that mark the first group exhibition of student art in the office.  Pueblo Chieftain

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region advises adopters to secure the dog's collar and harness and prepare the car with a crate or seatbelt harness to keep the pet safe during the trip home. The organization recommends a calm car ride and gradual home introduction—helping the dog adjust to its new family smoothly.  FOX21

SPORTS NEWS

  • The CSU Pueblo football team came back from big deficits to win its last three games and will host its opening playoff game on Saturday against the University of Texas Permian Basin—head coach Philip Vigil said the 23-senior team is set to push for a championship run.  FOX21
