Over 100 families in Southern Colorado received free Thanksgiving meals delivered to their doors on Nov 22 thanks to a partnership between the Kiwanis Club of Pikes Peak and Greccio Housing — the program has provided full turkey meals to low-income families for over 20 years.
On Nov. 21, high school students from seven local schools collected donations and delivered Thanksgiving food baskets to hundreds of families at St. Leander Catholic Church.
They honored Rev. Thomas Scheets and Rev. Louis Stovik — known for their generosity — by training younger students to help with the drive.
Colorado Lottery and the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center’s Raptor Center announced a new partnership called Fly On to help injured raptors get expert care, rehabilitation and public education.
The program will offer free raptor tours, build new flight cages and support a mobile outreach vehicle — all designed to spread wildlife conservation stories across Pueblo.
Pueblo Transit updated South Shopping Route 5 on Nov.
17 by adding stops at the city park pool on Parkside Lane, the zoo on Zoo Avenue, and the east entrance of City Park on Goodnight and Doston avenues—riders now must transfer to the Red Creek Ride at the 45-minute mark each hour starting at 7:45 a.m. for continued service.
