The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk hosted its 24th Annual Holiday Lighting Extravaganza on Friday night — the event ran from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and offered live performances, vendor stalls, boat rides, photos with Santa Claus and fireworks over Lake Elizabeth — tickets for the boat rides were available in-person at the Riverwalk Welcome Center.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife removed admission fees at all 43 state parks on Black Friday because they wanted people to spend time outside instead of waiting in long retail lines—this Fresh Air Friday program helped families enjoy nature and create lasting memories.
On November 24, the Pueblo City Council voted six to one to add $176,000 to the Pueblo Zoo's budget — raising it to $944,000.
The extra funding will help cover rising costs and support staff and animal care — easing the zoo's financial challenges.
