- ➤ Colorado families can now apply for the 2026-2027 Universal Preschool Program as enrollment opened on Dec. 9; the program offers up to 15 hours of tuition-free preschool and saves families about $6,300 a year, building on services provided since 2023. KOAA

- ➤ Colorado State Patrol warns drivers to slow down and scan for wildlife on roads this winter — 431 wildlife-related crashes in December led troopers to stress using high beams when safe and avoiding sudden swerves. - ➤ Children’s Hospital Colorado urged parents to speak with primary care providers about vaccines after the CDC recommended giving the hepatitis B shot at birth only for newborns of hepatitis B–positive mothers.
