Next Saturday, the second annual 8 Seconds for Addiction Sober Cowboy Rodeo will be held at the Colorado State Fairgrounds with doors opening at 4:00 p.m.—the event offers rodeo athletes a chance to compete in rough stock events while promoting support for those overcoming addiction. Organizer Lacey Singleton, who founded Sober Cowboy after her own struggles with alcohol, aims to create a community where enthusiasts can pursue their passion while staying sober.

Justin Kula was sentenced to 48 years in prison on May 2—he struck former Pueblo sheriff's deputy Christine Guerin Sandoval with his car in September 2023 while she served a felony warrant in Colorado Springs and injured another officer as he fled.
